  1. Just Barely Does Its Job

Posted by Lena on 16th Apr 2013

I do not recommend the satin cases! The first week I had it I put it in my bag with it's charger and the entire front has a lot of scratches. Scratches really easily! Obviously this is better than my computer getting the scratches, but it looks really worse for wear and I have only had it 4 months. In addition the satin material collects oils immediately so it always looks dirty.
Also the design is awkward to fit your charger into, the little piece on the left back corner gets in the way with the new charger, and at one point broke off. Now the bottom piece barely stays on.
You have to take the case off and clean often, otherwise the dust and dirt in between the case and laptop WILL scratch the actual computer, especially on the bottom because dirt gets in the ventilation holes.
My roommate has the regular plastic speck and has had it on her laptop for 4 years with no issues, very few scratches and all in one piece. The left side piece with the new charger is awkward (it essentially pops the charger out depending on the angle) but I recommend that one over the satin for sure.
